Elazar said: “She’arah refers to the prescribed time for conjugal duty, for so it is said, “None of you shall approach to anyone that is near of kin (she’er) to uncover their nakedness” (Leviticus 18:6); “Kesutah” [is to be understood] according to its ordinary meaning [as clothing]; “Onatah” refers to maintenance, for so it is said, “And he afflicted you, and caused you to be ravenous” (Deuteronomy 8:3).
